Get new.reddit (2nd gen) UI back on Reddit

Since Reddit patched the previous method, you can use an extension to make the new 3rd gen (sh.reddit) look very similar to new.reddit.

To get started, you'll need to install the Reddit Enhancer Extension.

You'll need to install the backup file we made with all the necessary setting changes to make sh.reddit look like new.reddit here.

To open the extensions menu, click on the puzzle icon

After you find the extension, click on it to open the extensions options

After you find the extension and click on it, click on "Settings"

Now, you'll need to import the file you downloaded with the necessary settings.

Now, sh.reddit should look similar to new.reddit. If you have any improvements that we can make, please contact us.

Before you start, you must sign in to Reddit. If you aren't, sign in or create an account here.

Install the UI Changer for Reddit extension.

Click on the puzzle icon to open extensions.

Find the "UI Changer for Reddit" extension, then click on the pin icon. Pinning it makes it easier to access

Click on the extension in the extensions menu or toolbar

After you click the extension, click "Inject 2nd generation (new.reddit.com)", it should open a new tab, wait a few seconds then it will bring you to the 2nd gen home page. If you are stuck on a grey or white screen after clicking inject, reload the page and if it still doesn't work, contact the extension developers.
